Trust in an Uncertain World
To navigate the challenges we face, we need to understand the context we’re operating in. And right now, I believe trust sits at the core of that context.
We’re surrounded by uncertainty — economically, socially, and in the way we do business. In times like these, trust becomes a stabilizing force, a way to bring certainty into an unpredictable reality.
When faced with crisis or change, we instinctively gravitate toward the things, people, and structures we trust. This is why, now more than ever, we should be strengthening and leveraging relationships built on trust.
Business Is Personal
The world has shifted. Many of the behavioral changes we’ve adopted — both personally and professionally — will become permanent. One of the biggest shifts is the growing recognition that emotional intelligence is no longer optional in business. It’s essential.
Empathy, sincerity, and humility must be the lenses through which we approach business. Collaboration — not competition — should be the priority. As Jared Belsky, CEO of 360i, put it:
“When you are working with humans, business is always personal.”
When we strip away the layers, every business interaction comes down to people working with people. Acknowledging this creates an opportunity to redefine how we do business — one that prioritizes relationships over transactions.
Authentic Solutions in an Evolving Landscape
Planning for the future means developing solutions that deliver real value. But authentic solutions aren’t created through rigid, outdated frameworks. They require adaptability, experimentation, and a certain level of bravery.
At Dare, one of our cornerstone principles is embracing a human-centered approach —not just for ourselves, but for our clients and creators. We believe the best way to build meaningful relationships is through direct and honest communication.
Radical Transparency: A Necessary Disruption
When I founded Dare, my goal was clear: to create an environment where creativity could thrive. But to do that, I had to strip away the inefficiencies that hinder progress — one of the biggest being secrecy.
In the world of content production, transparency is an interesting term. It gets thrown around a lot, but in practice, it’s often diluted, selectively applied, or completely absent.
The lack of transparency in our industry exists at every level, often for complex reasons. Some of it stems from outdated business models, ingrained industry stigmas, and long-held beliefs that secrecy is necessary to maintain a competitive advantage. And, in some cases, secrecy is simply a tool for greed.
But here’s what I’ve learned: when implemented properly, transparency doesn’t weaken businesses — it transforms them. It has the power to improve not just individual companies, but entire industries.
The Power of Truth
From the beginning, I made a decision: Dare would be built on radical transparency. No half-measures, no selective honesty — just the truth, pushed as far as it can go.
Transparency unlocks truth. And truth leads to rapid learning, smarter decisions, and better outcomes. It allows us to:
• Manage expectations realistically
• Hold ourselves and others accountable
• Be more resourceful and efficient
• Build stronger relationships
• Empower and educate
Transparency simplifies problem-solving. It fosters collaboration. It helps us make better decisions, faster. And when combined with creativity, it leads to real, measurable value.
Ultimately, radical transparency isn’t just about doing the right thing — it’s about creating the best work in the best way possible.
Let Creativity Thrive
Radical transparency isn’t a new concept, but its application in content production remains rare. That needs to change.
When we remove unnecessary secrecy and inefficiency, we clear the path for what truly matters: creativity.
Creativity should be the destination—the main priority. Everything else? Just directions on the roadmap that gets us there.
